The word “Ahkom” means "how come?" in the kriol language. It arose from the premise that questions of poverty, deprivation, disadvantage etc require answers. Ahkom tries in its own small way to provide those practical answers and solutions to the question “how come”? Ahkom provides an opportunity for positive work within and for the community. Ahkom is a registered community based charitable organisation in Sierra Leone. It operated in the UK as an unregistered but recognized voluntary charitable organisation.
