Two Community Education tailoring trainees of Ahkom who benefited from treadle sewing machines received from TWAM. The remaining treadle machines will be used for purpose of further training. Several of the hand sewing machines have also been donated to graduating tailoring trainees, all from deprived backgrounds, as start-up kits for income-generating self -employment.
The Director of Ahkom ,Mr David Sandi - Centre, donating an initial set of type- writers and sewing machines donated by TWAM and partners, to Pastor Macarthy of Koidu, Kono District for the MECHETA Preparatory and Primary School – Bangalow and St Andrew’s Community Primary School Meima. The Head Mistress of Mecheta is on the right. Both schools are creations of St Andrew’s Baptist Church, Oxford, UK. Brothers and sisters keep up the good work!
Ahkom's self-help school building project.
Work is on-going at the new premises of Ahkom in Kania. We shall transfer the Secondary School on 20th Sept 2010 and hope to establish permanent workshops for the vocational centre shortly there-after.
